1. Acceptance and eligibility

By creating an account or using Golfr, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. You must be at least 13 years old and legally able to enter this agreement. If you use Golfr for a club, course, company, or event, you represent that you are authorized to do so.

2. Accounts

Provide accurate account information, keep credentials secure, and notify us through support if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account. Golfr may require verification, restrict abusive accounts, or correct clearly erroneous data.

3. Limited licence

RootPowered grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Golfr for lawful golf, scoring, event, and community purposes. You may not copy, resell, reverse engineer, interfere with, scrape at scale, bypass security, or use Golfr to create a competing dataset or service except where law expressly permits.

5. Your content and shared play

You keep ownership of content you submit. You grant RootPowered a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, process, reproduce, adapt, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and promote the Golfr service in accordance with your settings and the Privacy Policy.

Do not upload content you do not have the right to use, or content that is unlawful, threatening, deceptive, hateful, invasive, infringing, or harmful. We may remove content or restrict features when reasonably necessary to enforce these terms or protect users.

Shared scores and event history can affect other golfers. If an account is deleted, Golfr may retain the shared record while replacing the deleted person’s identity with “Deleted Golfr user.”

6. Clubs, organizers, and events

Event organizers and club administrators are responsible for their event setup, participant permissions, fees, rules, prizes, communications, and compliance with applicable law. Golfr provides software tools and is not the organizer of a third-party event unless expressly stated.

7. Golfr+ subscriptions and purchases

Golfr+ may be offered monthly or annually, with the price and any trial shown before purchase. Unless cancelled, a recurring subscription renews automatically at the applicable price and frequency. Taxes may apply.

• Apple purchases: Apple handles payment, renewal, cancellation, and refunds through your Apple account.
• Google Play purchases: Google handles payment, renewal, cancellation, and refunds through your Google Play account.
• Website purchases: use the Golfr account subscription page to manage or schedule cancellation. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period.

Deleting a Golfr account does not itself cancel an Apple or Google subscription. Store subscriptions must be managed in that store. Deleting an account schedules an eligible website-billed Golfr+ subscription to stop renewing. Except where law requires otherwise, fees already charged are non-refundable and access continues through the paid term.

8. Third-party services

Golfr can use services or content from Apple, Google, map providers, Golf Canada, payment providers, and other third parties. Their own terms and privacy practices may apply. RootPowered is not responsible for a third party’s independent service, availability, or decisions.

9. Service changes and availability

We may improve, add, restrict, or discontinue features and may perform maintenance. We aim to keep Golfr available but do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or permanently available service. Keep any score records you independently need for official or personal purposes.

10. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Golfr is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or availability. Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RootPowered and its personnel will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, or loss arising from reliance on GPS, maps, scores, or third-party services. RootPowered’s aggregate liability relating to Golfr will not exceed the greater of CAD $100 or the amount you paid to RootPowered for Golfr during the 12 months before the claim. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.

12. Suspension, termination, and deletion

You may stop using Golfr or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for a material breach, abuse, security risk, legal requirement, or harm to the service or its users. Provisions that by their nature should survive—including ownership, payment obligations, disclaimers, and liability limits—continue after termination.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in Ontario have jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.

14. Changes and contact

We may update these terms as Golfr changes. The effective date identifies the current version. Material changes may be communicated through Golfr, and continued use after they take effect means you accept them to the extent permitted by law.
